Guest Article Policy

ArmyChaplaincy.com accepts guest articles (aka, guest posts) under the following terms. No more than one guest article will be published each week, generally on Wednesdays.

Content

Your article must be on one of the following topics:

  • News or commentary related to Army chaplaincy or religious practice in the military.
  • Personal experiences as an Army chaplain, chaplain candidate, chaplain assistant, or as a servicemember who has interacted with one of these.
  • Professional information or analysis about the responsibilities, careers, or resources of military ministry.
  • Historical items about the Army chaplaincy or religious practice in the military.

Your article must not be an advertisement for your or someone else’s product.

 

Guidelines

  1. Your article must be original and not previously published on the internet or in print.
  2. You agree not to publish your article anywhere else, including your own blog or website. You may post a brief summary on your site that links to the article at ArmyChaplaincy.com
  3. You may provide up to three byline links: one for your blog or website, one for your biographical information, and one for your Twitter account.
  4. Your article should be at least 500 words long, but no more than 1000 words.

 

Editing

Your article will be edited for grammar, punctuation, spelling, and format. If substantive changes are made, the edited article will be emailed back to you for approval before publication.

ArmyChaplaincy.com staff may include introductory remarks or analysis of your article to provide context or explanation as to why the article is important for ArmyChaplaincy.com readers. These comments will be formatted in a manner that distinguishes them from the body of your article.

Acceptance

Submission of your article does not guarantee its publication. Only articles deemed in the sole judgement of ArmyChaplaincy.com staff to be in accord with site goals and of value to readers will be published.

You will be notified if your article is rejected, though no explanation will be given for the rejection.

Submission

If your article meets the above guidelines, submit it via email through the contact form (paste the text into the form). You will receive an approval or rejection within one week.

With your submission, confirm that you will engage with readers through comments on the article. This is very important: you must follow up on comments left on your article.

If your article is rejected, you are free to publish it elsewhere without further consideration to ArmyChaplaincy.com.
